1964 Fury 426 Hemi NSS and street legal

This is a very nice Hemi powered 1964 Plymouth Fury Nostalgia Super Stocker. Its name describes it to a "T" !!! It is also street legal and licensed and registered in the state of Ky. The body is a very solid 64 hardtop body that was stripped to bare metal in winter 2007 and professionally painted as shown. The cowl had very minor typical early B-body rust at the seam and it was cut out and replaced with new metal and leaded back in. The car features fiberglass front fenders, hingable fiberglass hood w/correct hemi scoop, and fiberglass front and rear bumpers. Both bumpers have been painted with "chrome" paint and appear as factory steel units. The car has all real glass, with functional door windows. The 478 cid engine features a 66 vintage hemi block, with diamond high compression pistons, eagle crankshaft, and manley H-beam rods. It has an external oiling system with a Charlies aluminum s/s pan. The heads are iron MP heads, The camshaft is a Cam Motion solid roller. Induction is via a MP cross ram, mounting twin Hemi correct 770 holleys. It has SFI approved balancer and flexplate.It breaths through TTI plated headers and 3 1/2" pipes to bullet race mufflers. The trans is a 400 turbo with a JW SFI bellhousing, and pro tree trans brake, and custom stall convertor. Ignition is provided by an MSD pro billet distributor, coil, 7al box and 3step. Cooling is via a polished Meziere water pump, polished aluminum radiator, and 16" electric fan. Rear suspension is adj. ladder bars and coilovers mounted to a dana 60 with strange spool , Chassis Engineering axles and a 4.56 gear and custom HD driveshaft. Brakes are later oem disc front, drum rear, front line lock and competition wheels studs at all positions. Wheels are 15x4.5 Americans front and Wheel Vintiques Steelies in rear. Tires are street radials front and M/T ET street 31x14.50x15 rear. Rear wheel tubs installed but stock frame rails remain. Car also has dummy restored stock gas tank concealing trunk mounted fuel cell with sender, and Holley black pump, plumbed in AN lines and hoses front to rear. Interior has NHRA 8.50 cert full roll cage. It features full custom carpeting, oem appearing low back buckets, matching pattern door panels, Painless switch panel, Hurst pistol grip shifter, and Autometer guages and tach w/shift light. This car turns heads everywhere we have taken it, runs cool, goes straight and just makes a wonderful "toy" It is enough race car to get envy at the car shows, and respect at the track. Its is legal for most all NSS organizations and is fresh from Good Guys Nostalgia Nationals in Bowling Green, KY. It is as close to a zero maintenance race car as I have ever owned. From street to race trim is as simple as removing lawn chairs from trunk, air cleaners from carbs, airing tires down and letting the fun begin!! This is not a "perfect show queen", but a darn nice old hot rod that can hold its own at the drag strip. It runs 10.80's in the 1/4, 6.80's in the 1/8 and is an excellent bracket car too boot.
